Therapy of wrinkles

With age the skin elasticity and collagen fibres decreases. Environmental influences, sun and nicotine accelerate this process. Wrinkles and small furrows are formed by loss of tension and elasticity. These especially affect the skin around the eyes (Crows feet) and at the sides of the mouth ("nasolabial folds"). Wrinkles on the forehead or between the eyes are usually due to distinctive facial expression in these parts. There are different approaches to the treatment depending on the shaping and location of the wrinkles

Facial Expression Wrinkles: Botulinumtoxin (relaxation of the muscular system connected with facial expression)

Wrinkles through Loss of Elasticity: Injections with collagen, hyaluronic acid and own body fat under the wrinkles Botulinumtoxin ("Botox")

Botulinumtoxin A., gained from bacteria reduces muscle activity, relaxes the muscle and thus smoothes out the wrinkle on top of the muscle. It is suitable, especially for wrinkles resulting from facial expression on the forehead (worry lines), wrinkles between the eyes (anger lines) and at the sides of the eyes (Crows feet). The injection of the substance takes place without pain using very thin cannulae, anaesthesia is, therefore, not necessary. The effect occurs within a latency of 5-10 days and lasts for 6-12 months, depending on the distinction of the facial expression. The muscle then regenerates by in-growth of new nerve-ends into the muscle. The therapy can be repeated as often as wished and can also be combined with other techniques.

Collagen

Collagen is suitable for injecting under and filling out wrinkles of any marked degree. It is offered in different intensities, according to the depth of the wrinkles. In order to prevent allergic reactions to the highly cleaned collagen it is tested on the lower part of the arm four weeks prior to the treatment. If an allergic reaction can be determined we recommend alternative treatment using purely synthetically produced hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is an important component of the skin that decreases with ongoing age. The purely synthetically produced substance is available in different intensities and is suitable for very fine as well as very deep furrows. We recommend anaesthesia of the area with an ointment because the injection itself is painful. The ointment may be applied an hour prior to treatment.

Own Body Fat (Lipofilling)

The filling with own body fat is lasting. It is especially suited for lip enlargement and the removal of contour defects. The body fat is taken beforehand from the abdomen, the inner side of the upper thigh or upper arm and injected after special preparation. Approximately two or three times the actual amount needed has to be injected because a major part of the fat is broken down by the body organism. The treatment is painful and should not be done without anaesthesia. Important information: Botulinumtoxin (Botox)
